Play Ball 2016 at The Strong

On Friday October 21, more than 700 guests joined honorary co-chairs Dave & Margaret Burns and Family (pictured below) at the sixth annual Play Ball—Rochester’s most playful gala! Play Ball attendees enjoyed an evening of larger-than-life fun and festivities featuring creative cocktails, fantastic food, eclectic entertainment, amazing auctions, and a surprise around every corner—all to benefit The Strong.

 

  • Guests enjoyed an exclusive performance by internationally renowned crooner Puddles Pity Party, marveled at amazing 12-foot-tall puppets from Open Hand Theater, swooned to the stylish tunes of the University of Rochester's Midnight Ramblers, danced with DJ Naps, and more!
  • More than 700 attendees savored opulent entrees and dazzling desserts from Wegmans, such as: tenderloin Au Poivre, jumbo shrimp in a bed of grits, taqueria selections, tofu tagine, sushi, and artisan cheese flights—a menu inspired by flavors from around the world.
  • Hundreds of generous businesses from throughout the nation donated amazing live and silent auction packages featuring fun-filled getaways, one-of-a-kind treasures, and extraordinary experiences.
  • Play Ball open bar included craft beer from Roc Brewing, a selection of beers from Wright Beverage Distributing, wine from Constellation Brands, and more!
  • For a small donation, guests enjoyed the exclusive Good Luck Cocktail Club House, featuring cocktails crafted and served by Good Luck’s talented mixologists.
